In 1993 a gentleman tabbed her, The Candy Lady, after she set up cases of the sweet stuff at a board meeting in Mauldin, South Carolina.
The name has appropriately followed Karen throughout her career.Starting out locally, Karen
publicized her business by attending local board meetings. She slowly expanded her scope to include national licenses with some of our nations best youth organizations and providing the highest quality products she could find.
After her interview in USA Today Baseball Weekly in December of 1996, her company began receiving calls from organizations from across the country wanting to use her company for their fundraising program. Karen has been busy ever since, traveling from
coast to coast for National, Region, District, and State meetings for various youth hockey, soccer,
baseball/softball, football & cheerleader groups.
Not only has Karen expanded her family with
her 2 daughters and 4 grandkids, (Here’s her latest addition born September 4th, 2011 with mom and big brother)
she’s also expanded her company and now carries a great line of “Spirit Items” as well as her New “Dry Cookie Dough Mixes”! With the Southern accent and hospitality she exudes, not to mention some of the highest quality products in the country you know that you can’t go wrong!
